A TEENAGER was arrested after he crashed into the gates of the Quaker burial ground in Kendal in a stolen car.
Cumbria Police was contacted at 6.22 pm on Friday, May 6 to a report that a white Chevrolet Aveo, had crashed into the gates of the Quaker burial ground at the bottom Old Sedbergh Road.
Police reported that the occupants of the car were seen to flee through the burial ground.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “This car was reported stolen from an address in Kendal and, between May 4 and 6, it is believed this car had been travelling between Kendal and Windermere.
“Following the crash, a 16-year-old male from the Kendal area was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, driving without insurance and burglary.
“He has since been released under investigation.
