TWO people were taken to hospital after a crash that closed the A590 for hours.
Cumbria Police was called at 7:21am on Sunday, April 24 following a two-vehicle collision on the A590 at Newby Bridge.

The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Astra and a Blue Seat Leon.
According to police, the driver of the Seat Leon, a man, was taken to Preston Hospital with minor injuries.
And the driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a women, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with minor injuries.
The A590 was closed in both directions between the A592 at Newby Bridge and the A6 at Levens until around 3pm.

A force spokesman said: “Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw a MK 5 Silver Vauxhall Astra travelling westbound on the A590 just after 7am.
“Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it , quoting incident number 61 of April 24, 2022. You can also phone on 101.
“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
