AN ARTIST has created a limited edition print to celebrate Coniston Mountain Rescue Team’s 75th anniversary.
Gina Tawn’s print shows the view from the Old Man of Coniston looking over to Wetherlam and Black Sails.
Gina is a painter and printmaker working in the Yorkshire Dales and studied a BA in fine art at Newcastle University.
She frequently walks in the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Scotland Highland and Islands, and the Peak District and her work is influenced by the narratives in these landscapes and the historical connections that have left their mark on the land.
Over the past few years, Gina has made wood engraving prints to help raise money for outdoor charities, who rely on a dedicated team of volunteers.
For the last two years she has made prints for the Mountain Bothies Association to raise funds for conservation and maintenance work on bothies in the remote landscapes of Britain.
And a proportion of the Coniston print sales will go to the rescue team.
A spokesman from Coniston Mountain Rescue Team said the team were ‘thrilled’ to be supported by the artist.
Prints are £40 and can be bought by contacting Gina at gina.tawn@btinternet.com
