BELOW are the names of the candidates set to vie for election to the Westmorland and Furness unitary authority on May 5.

The 213-strong list will be whittled down to 65 elected councillors. 

These councillors will serve five-year terms, one year of which will be spent on a 'shadow authority' that will oversee preparations for Westmorland and Furness Council, which is to begin operating in April 2023.
