A well-established Cumbrian accountancy firm has recruited a vastly experienced Operations Director to its South Cumbria team.

Lamont Pridmore, a family-run firm of Chartered Accountants and tax and business advisors, has taken on Dawn Devine from a national Top 10 accountancy practice in Berkshire where she was a Partner.

Dawn, a qualified ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) accountant with over 35 years of experience in practice.

She has developed a career specialising in managing the affairs of owner-managed businesses, and will now work across Lamont Pridmore's South Cumbria offices in Kendal, Barrow, and Carnforth.

She brings her expertise in all aspects of accountancy work, personal tax, and corporation tax to the Lamont Pridmore team.

The firm provides a wide range of business support services to organisations and individuals throughout the north of England and southern Scotland, including a specialist service for Mcdonalds' franchisees.

Speaking about her new role, Dawn said: "My many years of experience in practice means I’m well equipped to understand the challenges our clients face in running their businesses. 

"I'm enjoying getting to know them and better understand some of the sectors that are so important to this area, including engineering, retail, wholesale and hospitality, and tourism.

"I focus on providing clients with holistic, proactive advice to help them to manage their business and personal financial affairs.

"It’s fantastic to work within a family business which enables me to provide a much more personal service than that offered in a more corporate environment."

Dawn was born in Lancashire but has spent much of her working career in the south of England. 

She said she is delighted to have returned to the north and now calls Hutton Roof home, and that access to the Lake District fells was one of the main reasons for relocating to the area as she is a keen walker and a member of the Long Distance Walkers Association.
