KENDAL Swimming Club has seen its younger team members show off their talents at their own splash dash gala.
The girl team in particular were on brilliant form and produced some super results.
10-year-old Harriet Stainer opened her account with a perfect length of Breaststroke, quickly getting into her graceful rhythm and forging ahead and completing her finish perfectly.
She took on the 25 Freestyle and once again surged forward to take another Gold. Her Butterfly turned out to be her finest effort taking Gold by a clear margin.
She completed her night by making her score a full house, winning her 4th Gold medal with a brilliant Backstroke swim. However, determined not to be left out 8-year-old Harry Atkinson put on a brilliant display in his events and emerged with a trio of Golds. Starting off with 25 Backstroke he set the pace and took it on. he gradually moved ahead of his challengers to take his first win.
More success was to follow when he got a great start in the 25 Freestyle. Increasing his lead, he never looked likely to lose then timing his finish to perfection. His best effort came from a flawless 25 Butterfly, again setting a devastating pace that his challengers just couldn’t match. Sophie Randles got into the mix where she too proved hugely successful.
At her best she surged through the field at both Freestyle and Breaststroke to win a pair of gold medals, then followed these up with Silver for both Butterfly and Backstroke.
Logan Pinder was another who had some great swims with well-earned results. His first Gold came from his skill as a speed merchant in the 25 Freestyle winding it up from the start he did just enough to come through and win.
He went on to produce an immaculate piece of Breaststroke swimming, maintaining his stroke pattern throughout the race, holding his nerve, and getting the win in a blanket finish.
Still giving their best 9-year-old Esmay Dart came up with a pair of delightful wins to snatch Gold.
She opened her account with a great start in Freestyle and accelerated away. Forcing the pace, she began to wind it up and held on went on to win.
She too gave a repeat performance powering her way to another victory at 25 Backstroke.
Although producing a flawless length of Butterfly she had to settle for silver and then took Bronze for her Breaststroke.
Estela Hristova had a night where she had to call on all her skill and reserves to get amongst the medals and never gave up.
Despite Bronze medals for Breaststroke, and Freestyle, she held her nerve and matched her challenger’s stroke for stroke to snatch the Gold in a storming finish.
A number of others enjoyed a successful evening all collecting at least one gold medal.
Those such as Oliver Powlesland, Backstroke and Freestyle. Harry Hayton, Butterfly, and Breaststroke. Finlay Fitzgerald, Butterfly. Kai Stander, Breaststroke.
