If you are looking for some plans to keep entertained over the next week, look no further as we have rounded up the events taking place across South Lakeland.

1. Peat and Diesel 

Head down to the Brewery Arts Centre for Peat and Diesel on their 2022 tour. The three-piece band from Stornoway will be performing some of their best-loved hits. 

Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are on sale for £17.50. 

2. The Crucible - Ulverston Outsiders

Be transported all the way back to 1692 in the town of Salem with The Crucible. The production which will be performed by the Ulverston outsiders will take place on March 29-April 1 at 7.30pm at The Coro, Ulverston.

Tickets are currently available for £11.37. 

3. Lakeland Historic Car Club

Interested in cars? Head down to Lakeland Motor Museum for the month's Lakeland Historic Car Club meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend whether you're an owner, enthusiast or just keen to loom at some classic cars.

The event is held on Saturday, April 2 between 10am and 12:30pm.

4. Films By Women Festival at Brewery Art

On Friday, April 1, the Brewert Arts Centre will be hosting a brand new film festival celebrating female directors in cinema.

You can enjoy six different films a day from April 1 till April 3. The lineup will kick off on Friday with a showing of 'A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night' at 8.30pm. 

Tickets are on sale for £5. 

5. Street Market

On Saturday, you can head down to the Ulverston street market and grab yourself some bargains and support independent local businesses. The market takes place every Thursday and Saturday.

6. Dorothy: Writer, Sister, Friend

Head down to Dove Cottage in Grasmere for Dorothy Wordsworth's story, told in her own words from original manuscripts in celebration of her 250th birthday.

The exhibition will kick off on Friday, April 1 between 10am and 4pm and through to the summer. Tickets can be purchased on the Wordsworth Grasmere website. 

7. South Lakeland Zoo entry

Over the weekend head down to South Lakeland Zoo where you can join zoo staff and find out what it means to be a vet working in a zoo. You will be able to tour the zoo looking at its variety of animals. 

You will get a first-hand account of how the staff look after the animals and go behind the scenes in their onsite vet room. 

Tickets are free but all visitors must reserve a time slot.

8. Gan Yam Brewery Tap

This is a monthly tap event that is held on the first weekend of each month. Open Friday, April 1 through till Sunday, April 3 at 8pm.

The event will be hosted at Gan Yam Brew Co, Unit 3 Benson View Works, Shar Road Industrial Estate, Kendal and will be serving a full range of beer.

9. Lost in Cumbria

Watch Blackwell come alive with creatures great and small! Maddy Humberstone’s Lost in Cumbria gives us a glimpse of the endangered and extinct species we could be living alongside.

The exhibition is on at The Arts and Crafts House, Bowness.

10. Kendal Town Football 

Head down to the Pye Motors Stadium for Kendal Town vs Market Drayton Town on Saturday, April 2. 

The kick-off is 3pm and tickets are on sale for £9 for adults, 65 plus go for £6 and 7-17-year-olds go for £3 with under 7's going free.
