A TEENAGER from Bentham is over the moon after setting a new world record for the fastest time to put together a Mr Potato Head.
Matilda Walden, 13, assembled a Mr Potato Head in just 5.69 seconds on December 10.
Her record attempt has now been verified by Guinness World Records which has included it on its website with: "The fastest time to assemble Mr. Potato Head is 5.69 seconds and was achieved by Matilda Walden (UK) in Bentham, Lancashire, UK, on 10 December 2021."
The previous record of 6.62 seconds had not been broken since February 2010.
Matilda said: "I'm euphoric. I was really concerned that I wouldn't be able to do it on the day under the pressure of recorded time. It's still sinking in I'm so happy I achieved the record."
In a video, posted on Facebook, Matilda, who just last week was named 'young citizen of the year' in the Craven Community Champion Awards, jokingly thanked her mum, Jayne, her auntie Tracey and SELFA, and also the people who made Mr Potato Head.
