A HOTEL has announced plans to change its spa and gym service.
The Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa, Windermere has contacted health club members to notify them of the current changes.
From the beginning of April, the hotel group will start work on
extending its spa facilities to meet increased demand.
This will mean the closure of the on-site health club and gym facilities, including the fitness room and studios which will be used for additional spa treatment rooms and relaxation areas.
Current health club memberships will run until the end of March and
members have been contacted directly by the resort to inform them of the
changes.
Ben Berry from English Lakes Hotels Resorts & Venues said: "Demand for
our spa services at Low Wood Bay has been exceptional and continues to
grow. To meet this demand, we’ve taken the decision to make better use
of the existing space within the resort.
“Unfortunately that means the removal of our gym facilities and fitness
rooms for our local members. It’s a decision we have not taken lightly
and we know that our local gym users will be disappointed that we can no
longer offer them a membership service.
“We’re always reviewing what we offer across our venues, and seeking
solutions which best meet the needs of those who stay with us. And our
spa facilities will still be available to local people who wish to use
them.
“This exciting development means we will be increasing staffing levels,
as well as retaining all existing health club staff.”
