A WAFFLE business is preparing to bring its sweet treats to a new audience as the company continues to expand.
The Waffle Cone, which currently has shops in Sedbergh, Settle and Windermere, is set to open in Kendal by April this year.
And the site, located in the town’s Blackhall Yard, is expected to employ five to six people.
Owner Michael Gudgeon said he was looking forward to bringing the popular brand to Kendalians and promised a wide range of waffle combinations.
The company will also be available for delivery through Uber Eats.
“We want to bring our brand to Kendal and let residents enjoy our waffles and ice cream,” he said.
“We’re going to try Uber Eats and deliver as well-that’s not available at any of our other shops.
“We’d been looking for suitable premises for a while and then we found Blackhall Yard and it’s becoming a bit of a food court.
“We’ll have a café seating area inside so people can come in and sit down.
“There’s around a dozen different waffles you can choose from, or you can make your own, whichever flavours and choices you want.
“It’s all proven very popular in Sedbergh, Windermere, and Settle.
“They’re all doing very well so we wanted to bring our special brand to Kendal and we’re hoping to be open by April 1.”
