KENDAL'S Men's hockey team came away with a dominant victory over Fylde at Queen Katherine School.
Despite heavy rain and gale force, the local hockey squad dominated their opponents on the Saturday afternoon and were praised for their performance.
The men's team, captained by Nick Davies, were in relentless form despite the conditions where Ben Allison scored four times, while hat tricks by Noah Ross and John Stanworth saw the hosts run riot
Gordon Blunt, Ewan Galloway, Ayrton Boyd, and Steven Oliver all chipped in scoring twice while Simon Millington was also on the scoresheet as the hosts bounced back from last week’s defeat.
In the other games Kendal Ladies First Team defeated Lancaster 4-3, as the weather conditions worsened.
Kendal opened the scoring after Karen Tyson put the ball into the back of the net before Fiona Morphet doubled the home teams advantage placing the ball past the keeper.
Lancaster pulled one back with a penalty stroke just before half time however Kendal restored their advantage during the second half when Abby Bland smashed the ball home from a short corner.
The visitors got back into the game with their second goal however Vicky Jones sealed the win after she smashed in a rebound from a short corner, while Lancaster scored a late consolation.
However, Kendal Ladies youthful second team lost 3-0 at Kirkby Lonsdale, where Kendal held out for 30 minutes before conceding two goals before half time.
Kendal defended well during the second half before Kirkby Lonsdale scored their third to seal the win.
