THE Summerlands Taekwondo club has made its competitive debut on January 30 at the Fire Fit hub in Toxteth, Liverpool.
This comes following the club deciding to separate from the Cumbria Taekwondo Group.
The club's eight competitors returned with six gold medals and two silver medals, plus an additional gold earned for an extra match.
Being the first competition of the year head instructor and coach Ryan Lightley said he was 'extremely proud of his team and their support for one another was second to none.'
He said: ''The Fighters hard work is really starting to pay off now and you can see this reflected in the results we're getting and the team support for one another is second to none, which made the day even more enjoyable."
The club is keen to return to competition in the future, and progress further into the British Taekwondo Nationals. They will travel to Halifax next week for the Horizon Open Championships.
