"Six weeks after we opened, lockdown started and we still haven't had a full trading year to see how the charity business plan works, so are looking forward to being open continuously.
"We hope to further our Outreach work which offers free entry for people in financial hardship including refugee families and ensuring the centre is as accessible as possible for all families.
"We are incredibly proud to be shortly, if safe, officially launching our accessible toilet as part of the Changing Places Toilet scheme.
"We would also love to see some fresh faces in our volunteering and management teams so if anyone is interested please get in touch!"
Karl Tchumak, Pedro's Casa, Kendal
"One positive in 2021 was that when we had to switch to delivery and takeaway service during lockdown , we did gain a fair few new customers who were surprised they never tried us before!
"We said in 2020, '2021 will be a better year', we weren't wrong, it just wasn't a great year.
"Slowly but surely the coronavirus is becoming less of a threat with hospitalisations and deaths, but any more variants that come from this may also make 2022 a year to forget.
"I am an optimist and hope for a great 2022, but I am also a realist and unfortunately fear the improvement will be gradual at best."
Adrian Shield, Crossing Point Cafe, Kirkby Lonsdale
"We've had a pretty torrid 2021 - Covid restrictions early in the year, and water damage to our roof means we've been closed since September.
"We hope to get back up and running in 2022 to build on the fantastic summer that we had.
"Firstly we can't wait to open again, as had really good feedback from our customers about our menu and the overall experience we've provided.
"Rachael and Helen have been working on some fab new additions to the menu, so most of all we can't wait to see our customers walk through the door again to try them!"
