KENDAL’S Christmas tree has pride of place in the town’s market square after being reinstated following Storm Arwen.
The tree needed to be replaced after the storm caused damage to cross street displays and even shifted the 28ft Christmas tree in its deep anchor hole.
Contractors were seen putting the new tree up this morning and dressing it with baubles and lights.
The lights were due to be switched on by Kendal’s Mayor, Councillor Douglas Rathbone, on Saturday, November 27, accompanied by music from Stagecoach, Kendal Youth Zone, and Drum Nation.
