THERE are still a number of road closures across the county following the destruction of Storm Arwen over the weekend.
Storm Arwen battered the north of the country on Friday and Saturday, leaving some Cumbrian communities devastated, without power and with damaged roads and homes.
Emergency repairs are being carried out across the county.
In the west of the county:
United Utilities are dealing with trees blocking U7003 on the West side of Thirlmere.
Corney fell from A595 to Duddon Bridge – still closed. Electricity North West are working to remove trees.
In the South of the county, the following routes are blocked by trees with no word on when they will be re-opened:
Ratherheath Lane, Kendal
Underbarrow to Kendal
Crook Road, Kendal
Low Fellside, Kendal
Hawkshead to Lakeside
A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said: "Our Highways teams will again be out tonight dealing with any hazards such as damaged trees and we will be treating roads where temperatures are expected to fall below zero, particularly in the east of the county and on high ground.
"Please continue to stay alert and drive to conditions."
