Kirkby Lonsdale has seen great success in the hockey leagues with their squads winning two of three matches in the latest fixtures.
The ladies remain unbeaten in their current winning streak following a 6-3 win away at Ambleside.
Goals came courtesy of some skilful play from Hannah F, Hannah B and Ella N, who helped to keep their unbeaten run in the Women’s Division Three North league going.
Players of the match were Katie C and Hannah F.
The men's first squad travelled to Ulverston and performed well in a dominant match.
The team claimed an impressive 6-0 victory over South Lakeland, bringing their tally to three wins out of the last four games.
Goals came from Charlie Barry, James Royce, Ben Brookes, Phil Hyman, and Ben Harris, helping maintain their sixth-placed ranking in the Men’s Division Three North.
Kirkby’s men's firsts were not quite as lucky in their battle against the weather and their Preston opponents.
Despite striving through driving rain in their match against Preston fours, the team put on a valiant effort.
The match saw several incredible saves from goalie Ed Steel.
However, the young but enthusiastic team went down 11-0.
Mark Bryson had a fantastic game in defence but at one point lost his stick due to cold, wet hands.
James Longley fought an individual battle with Preston’s eight,, who at times seemed to somewhat bend the rules of engagement.
This loss unfortunately keeps the team at the bottom of the Men’s Division Four North league.
