A SAILING Club held an awards ceremony to celebrate their 60th anniversary season.
South Windermere Sailing Club held the event in the Newby Bridge Hotel, where members aged seven to 80 won awards.
Commodore of South Windermere Sailing Club, Angela O’Donnell, said: "It's great to be able to end our fantastic 60th anniversary season recognising everyone's abilities, skills and contributions they can make to the club.”
A total of 21 members won awards, from the Waterhead Cup for SWSC’s signature race the length of Windermere won by Mark Fearnley to the Whippersnappers Trophy for the most promising, enthusiastic junior won by George Taylor.
Mark Fearnley led the tally with 15 awards, Jack Thompson won 10, Bob Eastwood six, Chris Jukes four and junior Joel Oreton also won four.
Margaret Bissell won the Haig Trophy for her services to the Club especially for the SWSC’s 60th anniversary history project.
