A WHISKY festival in Kendal has been planned for December this year.
The festival has been organised by Philip Walker and Dave Pennington, who have approached the prestigious Wolfburn Distillery, based in Thurso, Scotland, to assist in its execution.
The event is planned for December 3 and 4 at Kendal Town Hall.
The festival will feature distillers from all over the UK and Europe and will be an opportunity for whisky lovers to meet the distillers, enjoy masterclasses and a shop to purchase their favourite dram.
The festival will include a session on Friday night at 5pm and two sessions on the Saturday beginning at 12pm.
Both will include masterclasses and tastings.
Each distiller will have a stand with samples available for festival goers in the main hall.
Mark Westmorland, of Wolfburn Distillery, said: "The Kendal Whisky Festival is an ideal opportunity for fans of the spirit and newbies to come along and try a variety of expressions.
"I always say be adventurous, go outside your comfort zone and try new things, just don't go for what you usually try, look for the diamonds in the dust and as we say at the distillery - Fortune Favours The Brave.
"We are the most northerly distillery on the British mainland and what I would say to the good readers of the Westmorland Gazette is make the pilgrimage North to come and see us, you shall be rewarded."
