The Times today have revealed its Top 100 hotels in the UK, and two Cumbria locations have made the list.
The list reveals the top 100 hotels, the best in each region and a hotel of the year.
In Cumbria, The Ro Hotel and The Gilpin made the Top 100 list.
The Ro
Situated in Bowness-on-Windermere, The Ro Hotel recently underwent an £8 million makeover. Describing itself as an “all day destination”, the dog friendly hotel starts at prices from £135 a night.
The Ro offers various experiences, including the Lakes Gin Experience and The Explorer. The gin experience gives you a 2-night stay including breakfast both mornings and dinner with a pre-dinner gin cocktail on your first evening, before taking a tour of the Lakes Distillery while The Explorer takes you on as much adventure around the lakes that 2 days can give you.

The Gilpin
The Gilpin in Windermere also made the Top 100 list, wowing The Times with spa suites and water views.
The Gilpin is a dog friendly hotel with prices starting from £295 per night.
According to the website, all Gilpin rooms have lake views, while 6 have their own cedarwood hot tubs and 5 spa lodges have their own ensuite spa.
The hotel boasts two restaurants, Gilpin spice and Hrishi, serving up tapas-style pan-Asian dishes and modern British cuisine with a twist.
