One of the most popular locations is located in Cumbria.

The new research from Premier Inn has revealed the most picturesque urban and rural walks in the country by analysing the walks with the most Instagram photos per kilometre. 

Ramblers love using photo sharing platform Instagram to snap fantastic images of their walks, capturing and sharing the scenery, weather and landmarks seen on their journey.

With people in Britain enjoying walks more than ever since lockdown, the UK’s biggest hotel brand wanted to find out which scenic routes up and down the country were getting shared the most online.

1. Pen y Fan (6.4km) - Brecon Beacons - 22,437 hashtags per KM

2. Mam Tor and the Great Ridge (10.4km) - Peak District - 8,669 hashtags per KM

3. Scafell Pike Walk (10km) - Lake District - 7,955 hashtags per KM

4. Slieve Donard Walk (9.5km) - Mourne Mountains - 3,408 hashtags per KM

5. The Old Man of Coniston (4.1km) - Lake District - 2,975 hashtags per KM
