OVERTURNED: The lorry Picture: South Lakes Police
The A5074 has been closed both ways due to an overturned lorry between the A590 (Gilpin Bridge) and Crosthwaite turn-off.
According to Cumbria Police traffic is coping well and emergency services are on scene.
A spokesman from South Lakes Police said: "The A5074 is currently closed between The Howe and PV Dobson whilst emergency services deal with an overturned lorry.
"Please find an alternative route to avoid delays. We are awaiting recovery but this may take some time."
