KIRKBIE Kendal School staff and students were delighted for their students following superb 2021 GCSE results.

Pupils left their school with their heads held high as they collected their results for their hard work this year.

Staff spoke of how proud they were of their students’ efforts and looked forward to seeing many of them return for sixth form next year.

Headteacher Phil Hyman said “Our results are very positive and, as well as fantastic numbers of grades at the highest possible 9, I am delighted that 80% of our students achieved a grade 4 (good pass) or above in both Maths and English.

“For the seventh successive year we have every single year 11 student attending the school attaining 5 or more GCSE passes, which is a great achievement.

“Over fifty percent of our Year 11 will enter our Sixth Form and every one of our students will enter Further Education, training, or employment with training. Our partnership as the South Lakes Federation (South Lakeland Schools, Kendal College and the University of Cumbria) provides excellent opportunities for all South Lakeland students to excel.”
