THE Razzamataz Theatre School will be arriving in Kendal in September.
The school, known for its unique mix of both commercial and musical theatre styles of singing, dancing and drama, the mid-week theatre school, will be bringing opportunities for would-be stars of the stage and screen.
Razzamataz South Lakes is expanding and Kendal will be opening in September 2021 by Asha Richardson who currently runs Razzamataz Classes in both in Penrith and Appleby, the team have been busily working backstage to prepare to open their doors in Kendal.
The school has previously appeared on Dragons Den, with Duncan Bannantyne commenting: “Razzamataz skills keep young people active, instil a confidence and pride and encourage social skills.
“All of which are vital today.”
The theatre school is run by Asha Richardson who is passionate about the performing arts. Asha trained at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and graduated with a degree in Community Drama.
Asha said: “It’s been fascinating to see the importance of the Arts during these current times, especially as a way of connecting children while face to face contact has been limited.”
Razzamataz offers a wide range of performing arts styles for children ranging from six months up until 18 years, with classes in dance, drama and singing, as well as movement and melody for our youngest Razzers.
Students experience various genres from classic West End musical theatre through to pop singing and street dance.
Students will also get the opportunity to audition for The Future Fund, Razzamataz’s own registered charity that will financially assist a student looking to go on to study performing arts at college or university.
Guest workshops are taken by industry experts such as the nationally recognised street dance crew Diversity.
Other exerts include musical theatre stars and many scholarships including a prestigious award held in association with The Stage newspaper.
