KENDAL'S Chojinkai Karate Club has seen one of its instructors grades to his second degree black belt.
Chris Greenbank, who has been training in martial arts since 1998, achieved his belt on August 1, under the watchful eye of club founder Doug James, 8th degree black belt.
Doug said: "Chris did a great job and he's really stood out in the club over lockdown. He worked very hard and we are very proud of him.
"He's one of our instructors and he did a fantastic job."
Chris said: "It was good to get it done on the weekend.
"The club has a few associations around, like in Newcastle, Carlisle, Kendal and other places.
"I've been training in Karate since 1998 so I've got a fair amount of experience.
"It's a great style. It's a mix between traditional Wado Ryu Karate and the sport style, it’s great to train in.
"We're running the club out of Queen Katherine School at the moment, and we also run a Little Dragon's session for 4-7 years old who have just started."
The club run the Kendal sessions at Queen Katherine School on a Tuesday evening & The Bryce Centre, Burneside on a Friday evening.
