A KENDAL College student has been awarded student of the year after completing her qualification in human resources.
Jasmine Purdy has been awarded the accolade of Student of the Year by the Cumbrian branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, after passing her Level 3 diploma in human resources practice at Kendal College and gaining a CIPD Foundation Certificate qualification and associate professional membership.
The former Queen Elizabeth Grammar School pupil completed her qualification while working in the HR office and other departments such as the Weighbridge at A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products in Clifton near Penrith.
Ms Purdy, who lives in Great Salkeld, was praised by the CIPD for her ‘outstanding work, dedication, and passion throughout the course’.
The Student of the Year is chosen by the branch’s chair, Melanie Kinsella.
“I joined A.W. Jenkinson Forest Products in 2019 after deciding not to attend university, and I have never looked back,” said the 21-year-old.
“I have gained such brilliant friendships and working relationships and great knowledge of the company.
“I love working in the HR department as no two days are the same, from recruitment to learning and development to policies and legislation.
“I am so thrilled be a part of the business’ ongoing growth and development and I am excited to see what the future holds.”
