A NUMBER of children at a Kendal school will not be returning until after the summer holidays after being forced to isolate due to close contact with a positive Covid-19 case.
A letter to a parent, seen by the Gazette, revealed their child, who attends Castle Park School, would be forced to isolate until July 19.
This was after, said headteacher Helen Richardson in the correspondence - dated yesterday - the child had 'close contact with a positive case' on July 8.
"All close contacts are required to isolate for 10 days (with or without a test result)," said Mrs Richardson.
"Unfortunately, this means your child will not be able to return to school before the summer holidays begin."
Mrs Richardson addressed the letter to 'all identified close contacts of a positive Covid case in Mrs Stearn's class and key stage 1 Bowfell House' at the school in Sedbergh Drive.
