IF you think parking fees are high in Cumbria, you should try living in London.
We have already taken a look how London’s property prices compare to Cumbria’s and some of the statistics were pretty shocking.
As it turns out, it’s actually cheaper to get a mortgage than buy some parking spaces in the capital.
This particular parking spot is in York House Place, London and is listed on Zoopla for a whopping £190,000.
Thankfully, property prices are no way near as expensive in Cumbria and we will never (hopefully) have similar parking problems to London.
We wanted to showcase some of the fantastic properties for sale in Penrith- all of which cost the same or less than this London parking spot.
Here are just five that we found on Zoopla:
Tara Hill
£184,000
This new build home is £6000 cheaper than the London parking spot- and I know which one I would plump for.
It has four bedrooms in total, making it ideal for new or growing families.
It’s much more spacious than it appears, with an open plan design to the ground floor of the property.
There is also a private garden to the rear of the property, which is easy to maintain and keep looking pristine.
However, we haven’t told you the best part- there is allocated parking to the front of the property meaning there is no need to purchase your own spot.
Newlands Place
£179,950
At £179,950, this four bedroom home is a bit of a steal- especially in comparison to the parking spot.
It has four bedrooms in total, as well as a recently installed kitchen.
The lounge seems like the focal point of the property, as it has plenty of storage and wood effect flooring.
It has “ample” garden and plenty of space for all of your off road parking needs.
Graham Street
£179,950
This property is described as “beautifully presented” and within easy walking distance of the Penrith town centre.
If the two bedroom home wasn’t big enough already, there is additional cellar storage space too.
The sitting room benefits from wood effect flooring and also has an original fireplace.
The garden looks like it would be a dream in the summer, with flagged sandstone seating and raised beds to plant flowers.
Drovers Lane
£175,000
On the market for a two bedroom home?
This barn conversion has a lot to offer any prospective buyers and would appeal to first time buyers or investors.
The kitchen is fitted with modern fixtures and the lounge/dining area has an open plan design.
Best of all, owners have an allocated parking space in Field House Gardens.
Balmoral Close
£190,000
For the exact same price as the London parking spot, you could get this stunning Penrith house.
It has three bedrooms in total and also benefits from a “good size” garden, which wraps around the property.
The lounge looks like the pinnacle of comfort, with an electric fire that is surrounded by marble.
The master bedroom of the house even benefits from an en-suite shower room.
