A HOST of Christmas carols will echo throughout St John's Church in Grayrigg tomorrow (December 19) when children from the local primary school enjoy their annual Christingle service.
The service, which begins at 2pm, will be attended by children from Grayrigg CE Primary School, as well as parents, teachers and members of the community and will pay tribute to the Christmas story through a variety of traditional carols and readings.
This years service, which will see the children performing festive favourites, including Away in a Manger, Silent Night and Little Donkey, will also include renditions of Good King Wenceslas and Ding Dong Merrily on High by young musicians on the trumpet.
Rev Beverley Lock of St John's Church said: "It is a lovely way for the children to finish their year at school by learning about the Christmas story and singing traditional Christmas carols."
At the end of the service the children will be given a Christingle and refreshments will be served at the back of the church.
