PARTS of Cumbria and North Yorkshire have seen their first snowfall of the season.
Sprinkles of snow can be seen on the M6 at Shap, with Highways England warning drivers to take extra care while driving in the icy conditions.
A spokesperson said:"Our first sprinkle of snow has fallen in the North West. The M6 Shap in Cumbria is looking very christmassy this morning.
"Our teams are working hard to ensure the network is maintained and safe. But please take extra care when driving during these icy conditions."
Meanwhile Ribblehead train station is coated in snow.
Hawes and Newby Head Pass have also been hit by the snowfall.
Forecasts have warned of the possibility of more snow in Cumbria tomorrow morning.
