A POPULAR Kendal chippy has scooped a national award.

Frydays came up top in the Fish and Chips category of the Good Food Awards 2021.

Judges of the Good Foods Awards said: "Over the last twelve months we have evaluated customer feedback and these premises have demonstrated exceptional levels of food quality, service and value when compared to our industry benchmarks in their category.

"In recognition of this achievement they have been duly awarded the 2021 Good Food Award for Fish & Chips.

"Frydays of Kendal is owned and run by husband and wife Martin and Janice working with their special mix of lashings of passion and a sprinkling of love to make the magic of their award winning fish and chips especially for you."

A Frydays spokesperson said: "It’s a gigantic big fat thank you to all our awesome customers that took the time to vote for us."
