A BOOK collating one hundred banners used to celebrate female empowerment features a local submission.
‘Women Making History: Processions The Banners’, brings together the body of work, which was commissioned in 2018 to commemorate a century of votes for women.
The Brewery Arts Centre was asked to contribute to the project by art charity Artichoke Trust, which works with artists to produce large scale art events.
The centre hosted textile artist Kate Reid, who worked with spoken-word artist Ann Grant and local contributors to make the banner.
The banners were used during the PROCESSIONS marches that were part of the 14-18 NOW programme in 2018.
The marches saw thousands of women from across the country join together in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and London to celebrate the occasion.
The book will be available from September.
