TO commemorate VJ day the High Sherrif of Cumbria Mrs Julie Barton alongside the Mayor of Ulverston Cllr Sharon Webster lay wreaths at the war memorial.
The occasion took place on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Ulverston.
This year was the 75th anniversary of VJ Day, marking both the surrender of Japan and the end of the Second World War.
Across the UK people paid their respects to those who fought and gave their lives in the Far East and ultimately brought an end to the Second World War.
