A KENDAL church is inviting worshippers to join it in a day of global worship.
St Thomas’ Anglican Church on Windermere Road will hold a service to mark ‘World Day of Prayer’ on Friday March 6.
World Day of Prayer is an interdenominational initiative led by Christian laywomen.
It is celebrated across over 170 countries worldwide, beginning in Samoa at sunrise.
St Thomas’ services will be one of thousands taking place worldwide. The World Day of Prayer service is translated into more than 100 languages and thousands of dialects.
Each year’s service is written and prepared by women from different countries worldwide.
The church also said refreshments and hot drinks would be provided at the end of the service.
Irene Mason from St Thomas’ Church told The Westmorland Gazette: “We invite everyone, male and female, young and old to join with us in this global act of worship.
“At the close of the service we will share fellowship. Please join us if you can, you will all be very welcome.”
The service will begin at 2pm.
