RESCUE teams went to the aid of a mountain biker after he crashed while descending Skiddaw.
A 31-year-old male crashed while coming down from the summit of Skiddaw towards Carl Side.
As well as hitting his head, the biker lost consciousness and appeared to have broken his collar bone.
Keswick Mountain Rescue team was call at about 1.14pm yesterday and sent a Land Rover, which made its way up the col behind Dodd.
A spokesman for Keswick Mountain Rescue said: "After using an inner tube as an improvised sling to protect the injury, the casualty felt well enough to start walking down. The group wasmet at White Stones where one of the team paramedics carried out a thorough assessment."
He was taken to hospital.
