Much-loved comedian Johnny Vegas will return to Ullswater holiday park Hillcroft Park in Pooley Bridge in support of MacMillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ on Saturday (September 21).

The event starts at 10.30am and runs until 12.30pm. Coffee, cake and biscuits will be on sale to visitors and Johnny will preside over a cake auction at noon.

All the cakes auctioned have been kindly donated by Ullswater businesses. All proceeds raised will go towards the work of MacMillan Cancer Support.

Hillcroft Park became Johnny’s Lakeland ‘Home from Home’ for six weeks in 2017 during filming for the BBC series ‘Home from Home’, which aired last year on BBC1.

Since then Johnny has been a regular visitor and become an honorary member of the Hillcroft Park team and indeed of the wider community.

Owners John and Jill Heath commented: “We’re absolutely delighted that Johnny will be joining us for our popular, annual MacMillan coffee morning. We’ve also been overwhelmed by the generosity of local businesses and bakers who’ve donated some lovely cakes to the cause.”

Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is an annual event that sees more than 200,000 people take part in a day dedicated to cuppas and cakes, raising vital funds for Macmillan so this brilliant organisation can continue to be there for the growing number of people with cancer in the UK.

Hillcroft Park is open from March to November for camping, glamping and touring while their holiday homes and lodges are open March to January and two self-catering cottages plus Ullswater House (sleeping up to 14) are open year round.
