MORE than 200 people enjoyed more than 370 individual class entries for cut flowers, pot plants, floral art, vegetables, fruit and home craft at the 77th annual Silverdale Horticultural and Gardening Society show.
A new class for a home produced fruit based alcoholic drink proved popular with nine entries. The ladies of the Women's Institute provided a selection of homemade cakes, coffee and tea which visitors enjoyed throughout the afternoon.
Society chairman Sarah Fishwick said: “It is so rewarding for us on the committee to see the pleasure people get from taking part or just enjoying the efforts of others."
President John Eden presented the trophies with Don Hack, from Bolton-le-Sands winning the Sleigh Challenge Cup for the best exhibit in the fruit and vegetable sections with his five tomatoes. He then completed his success with the Blue Ribbon and £10 voucher for the best exhibit in the show. Sisters Sarah and Lydia Harris shared the prize for the most points in the children's section.
Mr Eden is pictured with Val Woods who won the Miss Pennell Salver for most points in the WI supported classes.
