Hornby...

HORNBY with Farleton Parish Council had said that it would not be meeting during August. However, various planning consultations were received that required comment before September.

The council would like to draw the community’s attention to new documentation that had been submitted to the planning website for and in response to both the Story Homes applications and the 23 properties application at Royal Oak Meadow.

The planning application numbers are: 18/01165/HYB – Story Homes, 76 dwellings and doctor’s surgery; 19/00320/REM – Royal Oak Meadow, 23 dwellings with access through Hornby Bank. Story Homes is aiming for the October planning committee meeting to resolve the application. Lancashire County Council had been asked to consider the eligibility of Hornby as a potential site for an electric car charging point; it was disclosed by LCC that most of the grant money had been spent. Council members are keen to learn the outcome of the request as a charging point would be something to seriously consider for the future. The next meeting is on September 12. The agenda will be placed on the parish noticeboards on Monday, September 9.

LUNESDALE Probus Club series of entertaining and informative presentations continue on September 16 at Hornby Institute with a talk by Norman Harris about Machu-Picchu intriguingly entitled The Hard Way.

The annual Probus breakfast and bowls match took place when an excellent breakfast was enjoyed as was the match on Hornby green.
