Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team wascalled out twice yesterday to groups of walkers on Scafell Pike.

In the early hours of the morning it was called into action when two walkers were reported overdue from a trip up Scafell Pike.

But this had a happy outcome as the walkers had bedded down for the night and walked off themselves in the morning.

Then around 8.45pm the team was alerted for a second time as a group of five walkers were reported overdue from Scafell Pike. They also made their own way down unaided.

Wasdale MRT has been called out 54 times in 2019 so far.
