MOTO Hospitality is seeking planning consent to replace the leaky canopy over the fuel filling station at Burton-in-Kendal Services, on the northbound M6 motorway.
Plans with South Lakeland District Council state the new canopy would have energy-saving lights and green-and-white BP branding. The work is expected to take five weeks.
The motorway service station opened in October 1970.
