A DOCUMENTARY filmmaker is appealing to local residents who may have stories or photographs about the ‘Windermere Boys’.
The route taken by 300 Jewish children through Cumbria fleeing Nazi persecution will be the subject of a documentary.
The Paradise Route was a journey taken by the children from Carlisle to the South Lakes town.
The documentary, which has been commissioned by the Lake District Holocaust Project, is being made by filmmaker Thomas Gardner.
He recently returned from filming parts of the documentary at Auschwitz, where he also took photographs for an exhibition now showing at Windermere library.
Filming for the documentary is due to be completed by July 27.
If anyone has any old photographs or stories they would like to share for the documentary or if they wish to be interviewed for the film, they should contact the Lake District Holocaust Project via info@ldhp.org.uk.
