A WALKER was rescued after a fall close to Underhelm Wood, back of the Helm.
Kendal Mountain Rescue Team were called by the police and attended to the casualty who was found suffering from chest and shoulder pains.
After an assessment of injuries the rescue volunteers placed the walker in a vacuum mattress and stretched them down to an awaiting ambulance.
They also managed to attract some inquisitive locals.
The rescue was on Monday.
