Carnforth CC won all three major trophies in the Westmorland League last season, making it probably the most successful season in the club’s history.
Following on from that, major developments are taking place at the club. New toilets are being installed, along with a new disabled toilet facility and umpires' changing room.
To finance these developments, £22,000 of funding has been raised, with grants from Sport England, The Bridges Charity, ECB, Westmorland Cricket League, Carnforth Town Council and Carnforth Rotary Club.
As well as this, the players are working weekends and evenings refurbishing other parts of the pavilion and extending and re-roofing the machine shed.
Carnforth field three senior teams and welcome new players of all abilities. Indoor nets start at the beginning of March at Carnforth High School. Contact club captain Bradley Hoyle 07894554583.
The club has a thriving junior section and field teams at all age groups. The club is Clubmark registered, thus ensuring children learn their skills and play in a child friendly and safe environment.
Junior practice sessions for girls and boys are on Friday nights at the club and start at the end of April. If you have a child who would like to learn and practice the skills of cricket at Carnforth, contact Peter Gladstone 07530015907
A pleasing development over the last two years is the emergence of our enthusiastic and improving ladies team. The club is eager to hear from any ladies who would like to try their hand at cricket. Contact Anna Mashiter 07500775007
Above all, Carnforth CC is a very welcoming, family friendly club with a vibrant social scene. If you are passing, call in and watch some cricket and maybe have a drink, we would be pleased to see you.
