The A591 was blocked both ways this morning following a four vehicle collision near Troutbeck Bridge.
Police attended the scene and have said that the incident involved four vehicles; A Volkswagen Passat, driven by a woman in her 60's, Suzuki Wagon, driven by a woman from Coniston, a Citroen Relay driven by a 65-year-old man from Kendal and a Mercedes Benza.
Police also said the level of injury was 'minor'.
Although all lanes have now re-opened, there are reports of queueing traffic in both directions in the White Cross Bay Holiday Park area, with congestion northbound to Windermere.

An air ambulance has been in attendance at the scene as well as the fire service
