TWO men have been arrested following a police pursuit which led to a single vehicle collision at Ings.
A 27-year old man from Lancaster and a 20-year old man from Blackpool were both arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and also for a number of thefts.
The arrests followed a short Police pursuit by Cumbria’s mobile support group and the vehicle that failed to stop was subsequently involved in a single vehicle collision at 4:19pm yesterday (14th January), at Ings.
And it’s a crash, crash, crash. Car made off from patrol at Ings and ran out of driving talent. Both occupants wanted for high value shop thefts, not including today’s haul. Off to custody with @SouthLakesPol where they’ll be dealt with for various offences #MSGOverlord pic.twitter.com/uGvmab3XQD

Mobile Support Group Sergeant, Martin Bainbridge said: “Our priority is always to keep our community safe and will actively pursue anyone who enters our county to commit crime. Cumbria is not a soft touch and anyone who travels here to commit crime is not welcome."
The Lancaster man was also arrested for driving while disqualified and the Blackpool man was arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs. Both still remain in custody.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
