FIREFIGHTERS are still tackling a large grass fire which began smouldering yesterday (Sunday) morning.
Just after 10am firefighters were called to Raven Crag near to Thirlmere Reservoir.
Crews from Keswick, Cockermouth, Lazonby, Millom, Ambleside and Windermere were all called.
By this morning the majority of the fire had been extinguished, although there are still a number of smouldering hot spots.
A helicopter is due to land to put out the main pockets of fire on the steep ground.
