MOTORISTS are experiencing hazardous driving conditions across Cumbria due to snow.
There was stationary traffic on the A590 due to snow and a broken down lorry between A592, Newby Bridge roundabout and the A5074 near Levens.
Several vehicles have become stuck and a tanker has become stranded across the carriageway on Lindale Hill.
The road is just passable but there is a lot of snow and ice. The road was blocked until around 10:50am.
The A6 is closed due to snow between Jackson's Lane (Shap) and A685 Appleby Road (Kendal). Police have closed the road after several accidents along Shap Fell.
One lane of the M6 was closed due to an accident southbound between J38 A685/B6260 (Tebay) and J37 A684 (Kendal).

Police were called to Kents Bank Road, Grange-over-Sands at 8.40am to reports of a three vehicle road traffic collision.
The accident and road is now cleared.
There are reports of hazardous driving conditions due to snow on High Cross Brow and of vehicles stuck on High Cross Hill between Duddon Bridge and Broughton.
Honister Pass is closed, as are Whinlatter Pass, Newlands Pass at Buttermere, Corney Fell Road and Hard Knott pass at Eskdale.

Sedbergh Road was partially blocked both ways due to the bridge being struck by a vehicle between Paddy Lane and Castle Green Road.
There were reports that a lorry s stuck under the railway bridge.

And there are hazardous driving conditions and slow traffic due to snow on the A684 between A683 Long Lane (Sedbergh) and Cock Brow (Grisedale).
Vehicles are getting stuck on the inclines between Sedbergh and Garsdale.
We’re near Crook, just outside of Kendal. Pretty deep. Rural B & A roads not gritted. Roads with valleys and hills have made it practically too hard to drive out. Sitting and waiting to see if it warms up/rains. Still loads of snow falling at present.

The Met Office warned that some roads and railways would be affected by snow, leading to longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
