GIGGLESWICK School teacher Phil Andrew has died in a car crash while on holiday in Scotland.

There were no other people involved.

He was the school's Director of Digital Strategy and Nowell housemaster.

Headteacher Mark Turnbull said the news would be deeply upsetting for the whole school community and particularly for anyone who knew him personally.

"He was a remarkable man, brilliant of mind, immensely practical and above all a truly caring schoolmaster who touched the lives of all of the boys in Nowell and so many across the community.

"We will be opening a book of condolences in the chapel for anybody to sign," he said.
