FREE parking on Sundays during December in the run up to Christmas is being offered by South Lakeland District Council at all of its pay and display car parks.
The offer also applies to the Westmorland Shopping Centre Car Park. But it does not apply to Sedbergh Parish Council’s Joss Lane and Loftus Hill pay and display car parks, the Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal, car park and the Miller Bridge car park at Ambleside. No contract permit-holder only car parks are included in the offer.
Cllr Graham Vincent, SLDC Portfolio Holder for the Economy, said: “We are committed to helping our towns and villages to thrive commercially and once again we are making this free Sunday parking offer to help support our high streets and shoppers at one of the busiest times of the year.
“There is so much to celebrate in our town and village centres and there are some wonderful, diverse and unique shops to explore. Hopefully this initiative will encourage more people to shop local this Christmas.’’
