A WALKER attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks was one of two people helped by mountain rescue volunteers over the weekend.
The woman, who was walking with two others, who were part of a larger group, was reported to be in difficulties on 'Ingleborough, seven miles from Horton-in-Ribblesdale' at just before 7.50pm on Saturday.
After getting a more accurate location, a team from the Cave Rescue Organisation found the women at Simon Fell Breast, Ingleborough, and assisted them to one of the team Land Rovers. They were then transported to the CRO base in Clapham, where they were collected by a member of the larger sponsored walk group.
Earlier in the morning, the team was called out after a 66-year-old woman slipped while on her way down from Ingleborough to Humphrey Bottom.
The walker, who was on the stone pitched path at the time, rolled about 30 metres, sustaining head, hand and leg injuries.
A CRO spokesman said: "After assessment, first aid and packaging, the team stretchered her about 100 metres to where an air ambulance could land. This flew her, initially, down to a road ambulance, but after re-assessment by paramedics, it flew her on to hospital."
