THREE awards were scooped by the engineering maintenance team at Burneside papermakers James Cropper PLC at the T2000 awards
Electrical maintenance apprentice Martin Allen won two awards including Apprentice of the Year for the high standard of work completed over four years. He also won the In Company Advanced Apprentice of the Year award.
Engineering apprentice Stephen Baines won the national BTEC National Maintenance Award for his contributions over the last 12 months.
Training 2000 is a large group training association based in Blackburn and the presentation event took place at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel at nearby Clayton-le-Moors.
Dave Watson, chief operating office, Glyn Gannon, maintenance manager and Stephen’s father, Ian Baines, maintenance planning co-ordinator from James Cropper PLC supported the worthy winners at the presentation dinner.
Ian Baines said: “The team are really proud of what all our apprentices have achieved. It has been a highly rewarding experience for all concerned, and the evening marked another great success story for the business.”
